ARM EC system has been put into operation on Fosfaty-Tovarnaya Station (AO Apatit) in Cherepovets. ARM EC is a solution for modernization of an outdated relay interlocking systems and already it showed great results on Vostochnaya Station, located in the Kirov Branch of the enterprise.
The efforts to partially modernize the block-relay interlocking system with track circuits have concluded in the end of November: old interlocking relays have been removed and a modern ARM DSP Station Master Terminal has been installed instead of an outdated control panel. Now ARM EC controls 84 points, 100 light signals and 11 departure and arrival tracks. Modernization allowed speeding up shunting operations and increasing train traffic safety.
Fosfaty-Tovarnaya Station mainly deals with shunting trains with various loads, such as sulfur, potassium muriate, alumina hydrate and other components necessary for production of mineral fertilizers. The station is also used for composition of trains for sending to Oktyabrskaya, Privolzhskaya, Sverdlovsk and other Railways, as well as departure of decomposition shunting trains to Koshta and Losta Stations.
Cherepovets chemical cluster is a part of FosAgro Group –the largest producer of phosphourous fertilizers, phosphoric and sulfuric acids, as well as one of the leaders of Russia in production of NPK-fertilizers, ammonia and ammonia nitrate.
